Tab Reaper ("the extension," "we," "us") is developed by Castle Labs. This policy explains what data the extension collects, why, and how it's handled.
Tab Reaper reads the URL, title, and status (pinned / playing audio / tab group membership) of your open tabs in order to apply your closing rules. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere unless you explicitly enable Cloud Backup (below).
Your settings, closed-tab history, and license status are stored locally using your browser's own extension storage.
If you buy a license, your email address is sent to our payment processor (Stripe) and used to generate and deliver your license key. We store your email and license status in our database (Supabase) so we can verify your license when you ask us to.
If you turn on Cloud Backup, a record of tabs Tab Reaper has closed (title, domain, and timestamp) is sent to our server and stored, linked to the email you provide, so you can restore it after reinstalling.
This feature is entirely optional and is off unless you turn it on yourself. You can turn it off, and request deletion of this data, at any time.
Each of these receives only the minimum data needed to perform its function.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your browsing activity for advertising. We do not read your general browsing history — only the tabs you have open, and only to apply the rules you've configured.
Cloud Backup is opt-in and can be disabled at any time from the History tab in Tab Reaper's settings. To request deletion of your account data (license record and/or cloud backup), contact us using the email below.
If our data practices change, we'll update this page and, where required, notify you within the extension.
